Interview Questions You Should Never Ask: Test Your Knowledge!


Compliance is critical to developing strong work environments and company culture, but it’s also vital to the hiring process. When hiring managers ask the right interview questions about topics such as work experience, career paths, and career goals, they find the best fit for the job description. When they ask the wrong interview questions, they risk damaging the employer brand, not finding a good fit to work at the company, and potentially encountering fines, penalties, and increased risk and exposure. Take this quick quiz to test your knowledge of what questions you should ask candidates about their skills and experiences, salary expectations, and long-term career goals. This quiz will also help hiring managers avoid questions that don’t reveal essential information (such as candidates’ ideal salary range or greatest strengths) and feel discriminatory or elicit the wrong answer. How long have you lived in the U.S.?

What is your religion?

What religious holidays do you celebrate?

Will being [insert religion] impede your ability to perform in this job?

Legal and Financial Challenges

Are you in debt?

Have you ever declared bankruptcy?
