Here’s How to Recruit Top Talent in 2021
November 1st, 2021
Recruiting in 2021 and 2022 will be competitive. In the 2021 job market, employers need new recruiting strategies to win top talent. Per a survey by Monster, 82% of employers will be hiring in 2022. MP’s recruiting experts share two of the best ways to recruit employees, whether remote or in person.
2 Key Recruiting Tips for 2021
1. Create and share a clear interview process with candidates.
One of the best practices for hiring top talent (especially in a market with a staggering number of open jobs) is to communicate clearly about the hiring process. Candidates may be discussing job offers and interviews with many recruiters simultaneously. To ensure they don’t lose patience or are tempted by another offer, employers should begin the process by clearly articulating
- What the hiring process will be
- Roughly how long it may take
Employers should also tell candidates to communicate with their recruiter if they receive an offer in the middle of the hiring process. The hiring organization may be able to speed up the process for suitable candidates.
An example of how to communicate the hiring process: This hiring process will involve a phone screen, two zoom interviews, and one assessment. It will take about five hours of your time.
2. Utilize team interviews.
When MP’s experts give recruiting tips for employers, they frequently suggest setting up team interviews. Team interviews are advantageous for three reasons.
- They allow employers to create a strong connection with candidates. In a market where candidates have many options, employers are more successful selling an open role when candidates meet potential coworkers. Often, people’s coworkers are a significant factor in whether they are engaged at their jobs.
- Candidates will gain more information and new perspectives on the role. Hiring managers and HR can discuss the role from a higher level, but a team interview will reveal what the job is like on a day-to-day basis.
- Employers will be more likely to make the right hire when the team assists with interviews. Team members can assist in deciding if candidates can perform the work because they perform the same (or similar) work. The team will also have a uniquely accurate perspective on whether the candidate will fit the company culture. This is critical to an employee’s success in a role.
